what we do
Tree trimming and pruning in Buffalo & WNY
Good pruning is the best thing you can do for a tree. Done right, it keeps the tree healthy, keeps it off your house, and helps it stand up to WNY storms. Done wrong, it can hurt the tree for years. We prune trees all over Buffalo, Western New York, and the Rochester area, and we only make cuts that help.
When a crown gets too thick it blocks light, catches wind like a sail, and puts stress on the tree. We thin it out and shape it so air and light get through and the tree looks balanced again. You keep the shade without the risk.
- Selective canopy thinning for light and airflow
- Crown shaping for a balanced, clean look
- Reduced wind resistance and storm stress
- Healthier growth season after season
Dead limbs fall with no warning, onto roofs, cars, and walkways. We take the deadwood out of the crown so nothing drops on you, the decay stops spreading, and the tree looks a whole lot better the same day.
- Removal of dead, dying, and hanging limbs
- Hazard reduction over roofs and walkways
- Stops rot and decay from spreading
- Improved tree health and appearance
- Cleaner look without harming the tree
Young trees need a little guidance to grow strong. We fix weak forks and competing tops early, while the cuts are still small. It is a cheap job now that saves you an expensive failure and an emergency call later.
- Corrective pruning for young and maturing trees
- Fixing weak unions and competing leaders
- Stronger structure that resists storm damage
- Long-term value from every tree you own
- Guidance on tree care between visits
Branches rubbing your roof, blocking your driveway view, or crowding the garage only get worse. We cut clean clearance around the house, garage, walkways, and service lines so nothing is fighting your home for space.
- Roofline, siding, and gutter clearance
- Driveway and walkway clearance
- Service line and structure clearance
- Sightline pruning for safety
- Neat, natural-looking results

Frequently Asked Questions
How often should my trees be trimmed?
Most grown trees do well with a prune every 3 to 5 years. Young trees like a little more attention while they are taking shape. Fast growers and trees close to the house may need it more often. When we come out, we will tell you what yours actually needs.
When is the best time of year to prune in WNY?
Late winter is the best time for most pruning here. The tree is asleep, we can see its shape clearly, and it heals fast come spring. The one exception is dead, broken, or dangerous limbs. Those can come off any time of year.
Will pruning harm my tree?
Done right, pruning makes a tree healthier and stronger. Done wrong, like ‘topping’ a tree, it grows back weak and stays damaged for years. We never top trees. Every cut we make follows the proper method, in the proper spot.
How much does tree trimming cost?
It comes down to the size of the tree, how many you want done, and how easy they are to reach. Doing a few trees in one visit usually brings the price per tree down. The estimate is always free, and the price we quote is the price you pay.
Can you trim branches near power lines?
We safely prune around the low voltage line that runs to your house. The big utility lines are the power company’s job, not ours. If that is your situation, we will take a look and point you to the right people.
Do you clean up and haul away the branches?
Always. Every branch and twig gets chipped and hauled away, and we rake and blow the area before we go. Want the wood chips for mulch or the wood for firewood? Just say so and it is yours.
